On Thursday, June 22, 2023, the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences held an appointment ceremony for the Director of the Korea Energy Economics Institute at the Yeouido Smart Work Center. The event was attended by the President, Secretary-General, Head of Management Support Department, and officials from research institutions related to the appointment of the President of the Korea Energy Economics Institute. 

President Kim Hyunje has previously served as the Deputy Director of the Korea Energy Economics Institute, a member of the Tax Development Deliberation Committee at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, a member of the Renewable Energy Policy Deliberation Committee at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and a research advisor at the Ulsan Institute. 

The term of the new President is three years, and his performance in management and research achievements will be evaluated annually by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
