Welcome to the website of the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences(NRC).

The Republic of Korea has achieved industrialization and democratization at an unprecedented rate in its history. However, we currently face complex internal and external crises. The onset of an aging society with low birth rates, shifts in the international economic and security frameworks, advancements in the Industry 4.0 and AI technologies, North Korea's nuclear threats, and climate change are all presenting significant challenges to our society.

In this context, the NRC is dedicated to addressing the nation's immediate challenges and formulating long-term strategic visions. In particular, the low birth rate is severely affecting our society across the board, making the task of devising a solution to this issue of utmost urgency.

Our Council, in collaboration with other National Policy Research Institutes, has been instrumental in developing key policies and visions for economic growth and social development in Korea. As the nation's think tank, we continually strive to assist in effective policy making and contribute to the sustainable development of Korea.

Moving forward, the NRC will foster an environment where national research institutes can fully express their potential and creativity with pride. We will fortify collaboration amongst National Policy Research Institutes, proactively study issues of national importance, and relay our findings to the government and public. Through these initiatives, we are committed to supporting our society in overcoming current challenges and achieving greater advancements.
