On July 20, 2023 (Thursday), the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences held an appointment ceremony for the Director of the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU) at the Board of Directors' office. 

The ceremony was attended by the Director, Executive Secretary, Head of Administrative Support Department, and other officials from the research institution. Director Kim Cheon-sik has served in various roles, including Director of the Unification Policy Office at the Ministry of Unification, Vice Minister of Unification at the Ministry of Unification, and Special Research Fellow at the Institute of Unification Studies at Seoul National University. 

His term as Director is set for three years, during which his management performance and research achievements will be evaluated annually by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
