On August 3, 2023 (Thursday), the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences held a ceremony to present the appointment letter to the director of the Information and Communication Policy Research Institute at the Yeouido Smart Work Center. Attending the event were board members, the head of business support headquarters, and officials from research institutes. 

Director Bae Gyeong-yul served as a professor at the Graduate School of Technology Management of Sogang University, a professor in the Computer Science Department of Sangmyung University, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Seoul Metropolitan Government, the president of the National University Vice-Chancellor's Council, and a member of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development. 

The term of the new director is three years, and he will receive an annual evaluation from the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences based on business performance and research achievements.
