On August 24th, 2023 (Thursday), the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences held an appointment ceremony for the president of the National Land Institute at the Yeouido Smart Work Center. The ceremony was attended by the board of directors, secretary-general, head of the management support division, and officials from research institutions. 

The newly appointed president, Shim Gyo-eon, has previously held positions such as a special researcher at the Seoul National University Engineering Research Institute, the head of the Real Estate TF team of the Presidential Transition Committee, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan City Urban Architecture Joint Committee, and a member of the Housing Policy Review Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport. 

The term of the new president is three years, and he will receive an annual evaluation from the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences based on management performance and research achievements.
