The National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Council) held the "40th Management Consultative Meeting and the 2024 New Year's Greetings Event" on January 18, 2024 (Thursday) at the Mugunghwa Hall of the Global Knowledge Cooperation Complex, with the participation of approximately 50 key figures including Chairman Jung Hae-goo, directors, and heads of research institutes.

Before the start of the 40th Management Consultative Meeting, the Council took time to inspect the policy research sites including the Korea Defense Research Institute, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, and the Industry Hall of the Global Knowledge Cooperation Complex, which can be considered the origin of the national research complexes in the Hwarangdae Research Complex in Seoul. Subsequently, discussions were held on the progress and future plans of the National Research System Development Strategy Task Force, the 2023 Research Institute Evaluation Plan, and the 2024 Council's Planned Cooperative Research Projects Proposal.

Following immediately, the 2024 New Year's Greetings event featured New Year's messages from Moon Mi-ok, Director of the Science and Technology Policy Institute, and Kim Hyun-chul, Director of the Korea Youth Policy Institute, and concluded with the 2024 New Year's resolutions of Chairman Jung Hae-goo of the Council.
