The National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences held an appointment ceremony for the Director of the Korean Women's Policy Research Institute on January 25, 2024 (Thursday), in the Chairman's office on the 9th floor of the Council building. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman, the Secretary-General, the Head of Management Support, and officials from research institutions.

Director Kim Jong-sook has previously served as a researcher in the Industrial Research Division of Daewoo Economic Research Institute, the head of the Women's Job Talent Center at the Korean Women's Policy Research Institute, the Presidential Secretary for Women and Family Affairs, and the president of the Korean Association of Women Economists.

The new director's term will be three years, and she will receive annual evaluations from the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences regarding management performance and research achievements.
