Opening Ceremony of the "History and Future" Space by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences

The National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences hosted the opening ceremony for the "History and Future" space on February 23rd (Friday) at the multipurpose hall in the Sejong National Research Complex. 


The event commenced with a welcoming speech from Chairman Jung Hae-gu, followed by congratulatory remarks from Kim Bok-chul, Chairman of the National Science and Technology Council. A detailed report on the creation and significance of the "History and Future" space was presented by Lee Young-beom, Director of the Architectural Space Research Institute and Chairman of the Planning Committee, who has been advising from the planning stage to completion. The ceremony included a cake-cutting ceremony with the participation of both Chairmen, the Secretary-General, the Policy Head, Directors of Research Institutions, and members of the Planning Committee, underscoring the importance of the occasion.


The "History and Future" space, established in the lobby floor multipurpose hall of the Sejong National Research Complex, showcases the origins of the council system rooted in Korea's historical context, the evolution and achievements of 26 national research institutions, along with their major outputs and latest publications. The exhibition is organized into five sections: 'Multimedia Hall, History of the Council and Research Institutions, Video Encounters with National Research Institutions, Publications of the Council and Research Institutions, and Introduction to the Council and Research Institutions.


Open to the public, it offers free access to anyone wishing to explore during regular weekday hours.
